Saturday Trail Running: Long Path, High Tor and Little Tor

Registration is closed for this event
Run the with the People Who Make the Trails on Saturday, July 20 and enjoy bird’s eye views of Harriman Park and the Hudson River.

On this 5.7-mile ridgeline run along a smooth section of the Long Path, we'll see scenic views from High Tor and Little Tor. Our run follows a ridgeline of volcanic rock in High Tor and South Mountain Parks (not the same as South Mtn. Reservation in New Jersey). The trail is not technical, however runners should have reasonably good cardiovascular fitness, bring plenty of fluids, and come prepared for hot weather conditions. There will be two run leaders to accommodate faster and slower paces, and options to lengthen or shorten your run.

The Long Path extends 358 miles from the 175th Street Subway Station in New York City to John Boyd Thacher State Park near Albany in New York. The Trail Conference built, maintains, and continues to preserve land for the Long Path, which connects many of New York's and New Jersey’s parks, preserves, and forests.
