The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference invites trail enthusiasts to join us at the opening reception for The Art Center of Northern NJ Watercolor Affiliates.
The theme of the show is the four elements of earth that make up our universe, Fire, Water, Air, Earth. The ancients believed the world was composed of these elements in combination with the four principal qualities of hot, cold, dry and moist. Combined with the fifth element, the life force “aether” or spirt created life on earth. Our show will celebrate the beauty of the four elements and how they make up our world today.
The Art Center Watercolor Affiliates, know as ACWA consists of a group of artist excited about working in watercolor. Our Members work in a variety of styles, both traditional and contemporary. Their Unifying theme is striving for excellence in the challenging medium of watercolor
Exhibiting artists include: Peggy Dressel, Christine Ferriera-Friedman, Nancy Glickman, Mary Guidetti McColl, Joyce Kanyuk, Pamela Leggate, Diane Nafash, Karen Rhodes, Rose Scaglione, Barbara Scullin, Sheila Trautman, Elly Wane, and Nora Winn.
During events with a high number of participants, overflow parking is available at the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, adjacent to the Trail Conference Headquarters. The framed works can be purchased. The artists will donate a portion of the purchase price to benefit the work and programs of the Trail Conference.
The exhibit will be open to the public through March 2 during regular Trail Conference hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
