Trail Layout and Design Workshop

Want to learn why we place trails where they are? Join Trail Program Manager Peter Dolan and Volunteer Leader Gary Haugland to learn about trail layout and design!

In this workshop, attendees of all experience levels will get a hands-on opportunity to learn the skills needed to lay out and design a new trail project.  We'll discuss how to successfully route a trail, practice clinometer use, learn how to pin and flag projects, and get familiar with GPS data collection on the Avenza app to guide future volunteer work and trail construction. By the end of the day, we hope to have a brand-new proposed trail route for future construction.

Please register to attend this event and we will send meet up details in the confirmation email.

Please come prepared with:

  • Mask
  • Plenty of water
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Long pants
  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes

Please also read our COVID-19 Protocols and be prepared to practice them at the workshop.
