New Volunteer Interest Open House- Postponed

Registration is closed for this event
Join Trail Conference staff and Volunteer Leaders for a bagel breakfast and optional hike to learn about what is involved in taking on a trail leadership role!

Volunteer leaders are the backbone of the Trail Conference. Whether they’re guiding a group of new trail maintainers on how to spruce up old trail markers as a Trail Supervisor or working with staff and park partners to coordinate a major trail project as a Trail Chair, our volunteer leaders are a critical part of the planning and execution of all the work the Trail Conference does.

This event gives you the chance to come out and learn about what the role entails, what opportunities are available, and how to get involved. Our staff and a group of our Volunteer Leaders will be on hand to answer all of your questions and to share their experiences with you. After our volunteer leader presentations, all are welcome to join us for a hike around Sterling Lake in Sterling Forest State Park while learning about volunteer opportunities at the Trail Conference.

Know Before You Go:

  • If you plan to join the hike please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and bring plenty of water, snacks, and a lunch.

  • In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled.

  • Parking for the event will be available across the street from the Visitor Center.
