AT Naral Heritage Program Monitoring Training

This training session prepares volunteers to monitor rare and endangered plant populations along the Appalachian Trail as part of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy's Natural Heritage Monitoring program. Monitors should be comfortable going off trail to search for their assigned plant population and have some confidence with identifying plants (the latter is not required, but is helpful!) Monitors will learn about, search for, find and survey their plant population one time during the season. This may require more than one trip if the population is difficult to find. New volunteers will be assigned to populations along the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey (Passaic, Sussex, and Warren Counties).
