Bear Mountain Stone Splitting

Let's split some stone! This course is designed to educate participants on how to split stone to desired dimensions. Topics covered will include how to “read” a rock so that it splits properly, and proper use and maintenance of tools like portable generators, rotary hammer drills, and feathers and wedges.   We will be splitting quarried stones in order to prepare them for installation as stairs in the next few weeks.   This course is specifically for any crew member of a Trail Conference Trail Crew as well as those interested in joining the Megalithic Trail Crew and getting involved in the Bear Mountain Trails Project.  For more information on the Bear Mountain Trails Project, check outwww.nynjtc.org/bearmtntrails
