Bear Mountain Rigging for Trail Work

Let's move some rock!   High-lines are an extremely efficient way to move large quantities of rock and other objects great distances, thus saving work, maximizing safety, and minimizing construction disturbances. This workshop teaches the student how safely to use and maintain these high-lines on a trail crew. Topics covered include understanding mechanical advantage, winch maintenance, and how to choose the proper rigging system for the job.   We will be using highlines and dragging systems to move stones to prep for next weeks stair construction workshop.   This course is specifically for any crew member of a Trail Conference Trail Crew as well as those interested in joining the Megalithic Trail Crew and getting involved in the Bear Mountain Trails Project.  For more information on the Bear Mountain Trails Project, check out www.nynjtc.org/bearmtntrails
