Aquatic Invasive Plant Identification Hydrilla

New York state is trying to keep hydrilla from becoming established in its waters. However, hydrilla was recently found in the Croton River. Surveys are being conducted in the river to determine how extensive it is. But we need people - volunteers like you- to look at lakes, ponds and other waterbodies in the region. At this workshop you'll learn how to identify hydrilla and survey for it and we'll actually go out and practice surveying at the lake.  You don't have to have a boat in order to survey. You can survey from shore although using a boat allows you to check more places. This workshop is offered through the Lower Hudson Partnership for Invasive Species Management (PRISM) in partnership with Teatown Lake Reservation and Allied Biological Inc. Lunch is bring your own.
