Tool Use and Safety

There's an old saying - work smarter, not harder. Proper tool use utilizes this concept. Topics covered will include how properly to use tools like pick mattocks, rock bars, hazel hoes, MacLeods and sledgehammers. We'll also teach practical exercises in utilizing mechanical advantage using rock bars and picks to move large rocks. Don’t underestimate the importance of this workshop - moving large rocks without the proper technique can cost a lot of time, and potentially cause a lot of damage to your body. Take the time to learn how to do it right! Be prepared for changeable weather.  Wear your hiking boots, work gloves, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a lunch and plenty of water. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll have an answer for you as soon as possible. See you there!
