Native Plant Identification

Join Dr. Linda Rohleder, Director of Land Stewardship, for a focused hands-on outdoor plant identification course. Learn how to identify some of the common native trees and shrubs found along many of our hiking trails. Dr. Rohleder has been a botanist in the region for more than a decade and studied the forest vegetation community as part of her doctoral research. She will share her knowledge of native plants and identification tricks and tips not documented in the field guides. This workshop is geared toward beginners and is limited to 15 participants for individualized attention. Easy walking, slow pace. The minimum donation of $30 per person is tax-deductible and will go towards supporting the Trail Conference’s Invasives Strike Force program which locates and removes invasive plants threatening our native communities along the trails. The donation will be collected at the workshop.
