This all-outdoors workshop is devoted to presenting an overview of how to lay out a safe, exciting, and ecologically-sound trail. Topics covered include basic trail terminology, layout guidelines, how to measure grade with a clinometer, how to use a topographic map to get a lay of the land, and more. After mastering the basics, participants will have the opportunity to help lay out a new trail segment to replace an existing badly eroded segment.
Be prepared for changeable weather. Wear your hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a lunch and plenty of water. Hope to see you there!
