Trail Assessment

Calling all trail volunteers! Whether repairing, building or maintaining, this on-the-trail class will benefit everyone on how to assess the condition of their trail, and know when to call in a crew how to differentiate between functioning and deficient trail structures, and between drainage and usage deficiencies. In this course, students will learn how to identify and evaluate components of quality trails in order to understand what actions may be necessary to maintain or improve the trail. Bring lunch, water, hiking stick or poles, sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. If conditions are icy, crampons might be helpful on a few sections. Space is limited, and registration required.
