Tread and Drainage

Water management is a crucial aspect of trail design and construction. Topics covered in this course include sidehill trail construction, grade reversals, and rolling grade dips. This workshop will be held on the new section of Long Path being built in Romer Mountain near the village of Phoenicia in the Catskills. The workshop will be occuring on both Saturday and Sunday.  Participants can join us for either day and learn how to build trail side hilling, retaining walls and waterbars. Bring work gloves, water, lunch, and a shovel we will provide the rest of the tools and training. Beginners are welcome.
