Trail Crew: Day Hikers Needed to Help Supply Our Week-Long Service Trip on Long Path in Catskills

The Catskills and Long Path Trail Crew is working on the new section of Long Path that begins near Phoenicia, continues over Romer Mountain, Mount Pleasant and Cross Mountain and then will connect with the Burroughs Range Trail. As part of that work, the Crew will be spending a week, camping, on the mountains to work on the more remote sections of the new Long Path.   During this trip the crew will be working on the section that crosses Cross Mountain between Wittenburg and Mount Pleasant. Additional volunteers are needed to support the Trail Crew on Cross Mountain throughout the week by hiking up with supplies for the camp, bringing up tools, and carrying out material that is no longer needed. Volunteer for a day or more. We will be hiking in supplies to the basecamp on Saturday, August 17th.  The leader for this hike is Jeff Senterman.  If you are available and interested, please sign up and Jeff will contact you with the details of the hike. HIKE INFORMATION: We will be hiking up the Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide (Burroughs Range) Trail from Woodland Valley.  This approximately 8 mile round trip hike includes hiking on the WCS Trail and following the new route of the Long Path to the Trail Crew's backcountry camp on the shoulder of Cross Mountain.  This is a strenuous hike. - Cross Mountain, near Phoenicia, NY - You must register participate.  After registration, the leader will contact you with details.
