Trail Crew: Bear Claw in Ramapo

All hands in- Great Autumn weekend to be outside and on a trail! The Bear Claw Crew is looking for a few people to help on a large weekend project.  We will be building a railroad tie check step staircase at the trail head of the Shuber Trail which is heavily eroded. This will consist of approximately 20-25 check step structures.  We need skilled and unskilled volunteers for a number of tasks, digging, cutting rebar, cutting timber ties, hammering, getting gravel, moving supplies, reshaping the trail, securing steps, filling platforms, closing offshoot trails and a lot more.  Skills: No experience required.  If you have carpentry, landscaping or general construction experience please note that in your rvsp. For this trip we are requiring an RSVP as we need to ferry supplies based on the # of volunteers.  [email protected] Bear Claw Trail Crew Work Trip - Ramapo Prep Day September 28, Friday 9-4 Weekend of September 29 & 30th Saturday, 8:30AM - 4:00PM & Sunday, 8:30am - 3:30pm **What you need - Bring water, lunch and work gloves. We supply tools.   If you happen to have and can bring please let us know – 7 ½ circular saw, are NYNJTC/AMC Chain Saw certified, pickup truck (could help in the ferrying of supplies) Since we are working at the trail head you will have access to your car. - Shuber Trail - Ramapo Valley County Reservation, Mahwah, NJ. We will be meeting at the Park entrance in the parking lot. Route 202 Ramapo Valley Rd, Mahwah, NJ 07430 Ramapo Valley Road (US 202) about two miles south of NJ 17 in Mahwah.
