Dear Trail Friends,
Due to higher than initially predicted snowfall in the New Jersey Highlands, this Friday's hike will be cancelled. Please stay tuned for more information on the next Member Appreciation Hike.
Also, new for 2018, we will be holding a few of our hikes on weekends, to accommodate folks who work a traditional workweek.
Please join your Trail Conference friends, including Highlands natives and volunteers for a steep, 4-mile hike to the breathtaking summit of Wyanokie High Point. Participants should have strong legs and reasonable cardiovascular fitness to complete the 700-foot vertical climb and two smaller climbs. The hike also features two large iron mines, a small waterfall and the area’s trademark peaks, which author Bruce Scofield dubbed, “mini-Adirondacks.”
Plot your driving directions and meet us at The New Weis Center parking lot, using this link: https://goo.gl/maps/eikyTqvexRR2
Supplemental directions guidance. Traveling up Snake Den Road, you will reach a sign for The New Weis Center. Bear right here onto The New Weis Center’s gravel driveway, then bear right again at the fork. Park in the large parking area located directly in front of the large brick house.
Dress for conditions, bring plenty of water and wear hiking shoes with ankle support.
