Volunteer Opportunities

Invasive Plant Surveyor
Want to learn more about ecosystems along our trails? Surveyors are taught plant identification and survey protocol and then assigned a 1-2 mile trail segment to hike and survey. ISF survey data is used to alert our removal crew of potential work sites.

Invasive Insect Trap Monitor
Want to protect rare pine communities? Help us find a new forest pest, the Southern Pine Beetle. We have limited opportunities for volunteers to adopt a trap to check at local New York state parks.

BlockBuster Surveyor
Want to join our invasives scavenger hunt? BlockBuster Surveyors are assigned a 3x3 mile block to search and survey. This valuable data is used to map the distribution of invasives throughout the Lower Hudson Valley.

Invasives Strike Force Trail Crew
Want to show the invasives who's boss? Come out and help us remove invasve plants from our beautiful parks! We bring the tools, and you bring the muscle! Email us at invasives@nynjtc.org to be added to our upcoming work day mailing list!
