Volunteer Committee Meeting June 18, 2009
By 2012, the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference will achieve the following critical outcome:
An appropriate number of volunteers, with the necessary skills will be effiviently deployed, managed and retained to effectively achieve the Trail Conference mission.
(1) RECRUITMENT - Fill all volunteer positions
a. Identify & define all volunteer posijobs needed
b. Develop strategies to attract & promote volunteers to fill identified jobs
c. New volunteer opportunities are filled or contacted within 3 months
d. Ensure that all volunteers are adequately trained for the defined position
(2) RETENTION – 80% of volunteers are retained & performing to TC standards.
a. Develop a program to measure volunteer satisfaction
b. All new assignee will be contacted within 3 months
c. Implement a volunteer recognition program
(3) RECORD-KEEPING – all volunteer data resides on a database
a. Develop a system of measurements that enables us to track volunteer activity
b. Establish an online reporting system.
