In a press release on March 14, 2025, the Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail announced the following:
Beginning April 21, 2025, the Breakneck Ridge and Wilkinson Memorial Trailheads, and the adjacent Breakneck Ridge Metro-North Station, will close for a two-year period as part of the construction of the Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail’s Breakneck Connector and Bridge project. The closure will allow for the renovation of the Metro-North Breakneck Ridge station and completion of the new Connector and Bridge project, which will make the area safer for hikers and motorists, organize parking, and bring much-needed improvements such as restrooms and trash and recycling receptacles to the area.
