County planning updates could lead to interactive maps

County officials are encouraging residents to participate in the development of interactive trail, bikeway and scenic route maps as part of the Passaic County Master Plan’s ongoing Transportation Element update. . .With the help of local hikers and the New York/New Jersey Trails Conference, the trails could eventually be fully mapped classified according to type: pedestrian-only, limited equestrian, bicycle serviceable, and disabilities accessible, to name a few, said Bob Jonas, Central North Jersey co-chairman for the conference.
