DEC warns of giant hogweed invading Catskills

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation staff have confirmed the presence of Giant Hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) — a Caucasus Mountains phototoxic plant — meaning its juice reacts with sunlight to cause severe blisters -- in the Town of Woodstock.
