End of Season Report - Taconic Trail Crew
Title

Body
The Trail Conference Conservation Corps has closed out our 2016 trail building season. The Taconic Crew has done a tremendous amount of work on the Wilkinson trail re-route and the Undercliff trail in Hudson Highlands State Park. Utilizing skillful handwork and rigging techniques, together, the crew and volunteers:
- installed 88 stone stairs
- Set 35 stepping stones
- Built 32 square feet of Crib Wall
- Repaired 2 Drainage structures
The 2016 Taconic Crew served 3,681.5 member hours and engaged 111 volunteers who themselves dedicated 1,012 volunteer hours towards this project. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to work together with:
- The Jolly Rovers
- Marist College
- Gear To Go Outfitters
In addition to working with the above groups there were many individual volunteers who made this season great. A special thank you goes out to Katherine Moore who volunteered 32 hours on the trail and many more taking care of the general well-being all of the members of the Trail Conference Conservation Corps.
We’d like to thank our partners: The Corps Network’s AmeriCorps EAP Program, Corporation for National and Community Service, New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation, Harriman State Park Group Camps, the staff of Hudson Highlands State Park, and Trail Conference Volunteer Leadership for contributing to our success this season and enabling us to provide opportunities for stewardship to our communities.
