People have their say; gas pipeline decision is postponed

Public concerns, a botched local undertaking, lack of information and a path under the Monksville Reservoir were behind the Highlands Council tabling a vote on two Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company projects. More than a dozen people gave testimony during the public comment period in the packed meeting room at the Council’s headquarters in Chester. The 8-5 vote delayed for 30 days a final decision on whether to issue an exemption for pending pipeline projects.
