Public Meeting July 21, 2009 on Sam's Point Master Plan

Body

The Nature Conservancy will hold a public meeting Tuesday, July 21, 7pm at the Sam's Point Conservation Center in Cragsmoor, NY to discuss its master plan for the Sam's Point Preserve. Click here to download a pdf of the master plan. Hard copies are also available for review at public libraries in Cragsmoor, Ellenville, and New Paltz.

The approximately 5,000 acre Sam's Point Preserve is owned by the Open Space Institute and the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and is managed by The Nature Conservancy. The Preserve's Master Plan, originally written in 2001, has been updated to include new information and was prepared by The Nature Conservancy in consultation with the Sam's Point Advisory Council - a volunteer advisory committee made up of park management professionals, recreational and open space advocates, and citizen representatives of Cragsmoor and Ellenville.
