Park Overview
The Somers Library, a playground, and tennis courts are what visitors first see on arriving at Reis Park. Further into the park, trails skirt the perimeters of ball fields
Trail Overview
The simple trail system at Reis Park effectively uses a small area to provide three trails with portions of a fitness course along each one. The gravel surface makes for easy jogging and walking. All three trails can be reached from the top of the wooden steps at the near end of the parking lot just past the ball field to the left.
Park Description
Reis Park was a bequest to the Town of Somers from Carolyn Wright-Reis who died in 1967. It was her wish that the land be used for a recreation and education. As a result, the park was established, the farmhouse was converted to a museum, and the Somers Library moved to the property.
The park is adjacent to the eastern portion of Angle Fly Preserve, making longer hikes possible.
