Hunterdon County Arboretum

The Outer Loop Trail (1.1 miles) is one of six short trails, including a self-guided nature trail, that together cover two miles of flat terrain through a network of ornamental tree and shrub plantations. Trails can be wet at times. Use the Web Map link on this site to view a trail map.
The 135-acre Hunterdon County Arboretum is the headquarters of the Hunterdon County Department of Parks and Recreation. The arboretum was originally the site of a commercial nursery and is now a place for the public to observe and study natural science, with a demonstration greenhouse and display gardens (consisting of approximatey 20,000 square feet). A two-story gazebo, built in 1893, is the centerpiece of the gardens.
