To provide support to other nearby parks that are experiencing increased visitation, the State Park Service has announced that Fort Mott State Park in Salem County and Voorhees State Park in Hunterdon County will close to the public until further notice beginning Monday, August 10. The official Voorhees State Park webpage should be checked for further infrmation and updates as they occur.
These parks are closed for ALL USE including passive recreation until further notice
- Visitors to Fort Mott State Park are encouraged to visit Parvin State Park (swimming & camping available) or Tall Pines State Preserve.
- Visitors to Voorhees State Park are encouraged to visit Spruce Run Recreation Area (camping available) or Round Valley Recreation Area
Highlands Trail Hikers: The primary intent of the closure at Voorhees State Park is to reduce staffing by closing facilities such as offices, parking areas, restrooms, etc. While passive recreation is technically on pause during this closure, there is no indication that the long-distance Highlands Trail will be blocked or barricaded as it passes through Voorhees.
