Boardwalk Volunteer Bob Haas Gets Extra Mile Award

Paul Leikin Extra Mile Award: Recognizes those volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to projects such as a book, map or advocacy. This year we presented the award to:

Robert Haas at the A.T.project siteBob Haas, of Wappingers Falls, NY.

Bob was a key member of the team that designed, planned, and built the Appalachian Trail Great Swamp Boardwalk in Pawling, NY, that opened this past summer. Over the course of the 2 1/2-year project, Bob made more than 50 trips to the site and put in more than 350 hours of work.

Bob was one of three project volunteers to be recognized for extraordinary contributions of skills and time. The others were Frank Dogil and Stephen Klauck.
