Award Description
Honors organizations or individual partners who have been strong advocates for and provided significant assistance to Trail Conference volunteers.
Major William A. Welch was instrumental in creating Harriman State Park and the Appalachian Trail. He served as the park’s first general manager and was a co-founder of the Trail Conference.
Guidelines for Nominees
- Intended for a park or organization who has served as a partner with the Trail Conference and has been especially supportive of volunteers by going above and beyond what was expected
- Has been an active partner within the past 1 to 2 years
- Examples of those eligible are state, federal, or local agency partner officials
