Hudson Highlands Gateway Park - Trails system approved

Hudson Highlands Gateway Park:

There are three trails the Yellow, Blue and Red. Hope to open in the spring. Arguing with the Park about the parking. Parking area being used for equipment presently.

Ecological survey report indicates that this area is the most ecologically rich park in Westchester County. Done by Metropolitan Conservation Alliance.  The park is approximately 400 acres. The area is rich in revolutionary history.

All trails are foot only.

There is some ATV problem. There have been some control efforts

Some trails have mobility-impaired accessibility.

Yellow Trail has two viewpoints and goes around a large wetland.

Trails designed to avoid the eco-sensitive areas.

Doris Lee Road
parking: 3-4 cars for handicapped

15 –20 cars on

Sprout Brook Road
area.

Total of 3.5 miles of trails

Trails are hikable now

Opening may be a National Trails Day event
