You are invited to join Governor Pataki and Senator Lautenberg at the opening
of the new visitor center at Sterling Forest.
The day will begin at 12:30pm with a opening ceremony. Following the ceremony (about 1:30pm) there will be an open house with various exhibits and presentations including Iron Mining, Watershed, and Endangered Species. Starting at about 2pm there will be a 12 minute video on the history of Sterling Forest and following these activities there will be 3-4 series of walks planned to go to different locations in the park including the fire tower. Throughout the day there will be refreshments and music by Walt Michaels, nationally acclaimed dulcimer artist.

From the south:
Route 17 North of Thruway
Approx 1 Mile turn right Route 72 West (Sloatsburg Rd.)
Approx 3 miles to red light, turn right Route 84 North (Long Meadow Road)
Approx 4 miles turn left at sign, follow up to Parking lot on the right.
Note: There are signs for the visitors center at every turn
From the north:
Route 17 South of Route 6
Turn right on Rt 17A
Turn left on Route 84 South (Long Meadow Road)
Turn right at sign, follow up to Parking lot on the left.
