Description:
The Trail Conference is looking for members and volunteers who are passionate about the Trail Conference and would love to spread our mission to the masses! By travelling to a variety of retail stores in your region, the goal of the Retail Outreach Representative is to identify potential sellers of Trail Conference maps and books. By presenting samples of our publications and sharing the mutual benefits of partnership, the representative can help secure new customers and foster relationships formed over a love of the outdoors and the desire to protect the trails and their surrounding lands.
Responsibilities:
- Be a steward of the Trail Conference; encourage new stores to be Trail Conference customers
- Convey knowledge of Trail Conference products to store owners to secure sales
- Highlight mutual benefits to a prospective store and the Trail Conference of being a Trail Conference customer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Trail Conference products and our mission
- Accurate record keeping of sales and prospective sales
- Members and/or current volunteers strongly preferred
Retail Outreach Representative volunteers will receive training which includes an orientation and overview of materials.
This is not a stationary position. The Retail Outreach Representative is asked to pursue many potential retail customers throughout the region of their choice from the following list:
New Jersey
- Northeastern New Jersey
- North Central New Jersey
New York
- Catskills Region
- Manhattan
- Long Island
- Brooklyn
- Queens
- Dutchess and Putnam Counties
- Rockland and Orange Counties
Time Commitment:
4 hours, 2-3 days/month
