An on-site tour of the Bear Mountain Trails Project and walk-through of the new Appalachian Trail route on the mountain, with detailed explanations of the techniques and methods used in building the trail thus far. This workshop offers a great introduction to traditional stonework as it applies to technical trail construction. Volunteer and training opportunities for the upcoming season will also be covered. This orientation is mandatory for all following courses at Bear Mountain as well as for those interested in joining the Jolly Rovers roving stonework crew.
