Trail U 563 - Intro to Trail Building

During this one-day workshop, students will learn to use the basic principles of layout and design, as well as the techniques and tools, to construct a sustainable hiking trail from scratch. You'll also learn how to construct basic erosion control devices such as drainage dips, water bars and steps. This is a popular and instructive workshop that includes an indoor presentation as well as field work.

This course is mandatory for those who wish to take Trail U 564 - Intro to Tool Use and Safety the following weekend.
