Minutes:

Old Business:

1. Agenda modifications

2. Review launch status and set goals for next week.

Review of Google Analytics

-- still showing more hits on old site/content than new. (redirects go to old page then transfer to new page)

HOTW and Trails/index.html are hottest links -- Action: Walt to move HOTW asap; Trails doesn't yet have

equivalent on new site. Also to redirect: no-car, ovmap. Priority: redirect top ten asap if possible.

AdWords

-- NY-NJ Trail Conference campaign has high click-thru rate.
Can we try to find a volunteer with marketing experience to help with Adwords campaigns and keywords?

Re: Advertising maps & books -- where we do internal "promos" to encourage further use of site or purchase of related item. (Add promo field to database and figure out where it fits on the page ... another field to show related book(s)? Also tie to ads for local establishments)

Georgette suggests: Add tab for promo.

Work on styling so we have a consistent Ecommerce link to use throughout the site.

* Items in last week's minutes

* Items for Trellon to do

* Other launch issues and things needed.

-- Address content permissions -- what ones, who grants them and how?

Ann noted that we are out of control -- need to work on stuff that's not complete before starting new things.   Top priorities are:

1) Store (can members self declare to get 25% discount) Mark as members when payment received -- so get discount. Need to have the whole process walked thru end to end. -- too many people involved right now.

Need to do process flow for all possible paths thru process....
If necessary do Buy membership as separate transaction then come back and buy products.
Autofill fields if known -- how to do?

Possible other things to do to ease customer and staff frustration: Import all members asap -- and register people. Use it to populate Drupal registered user db. Ubercart should find it... or register with Ubercart at same time.

Membership role is what determines discount in store.  There are two role fields in user profile -- Walt to look at this and reduce to one if possible.

Georgette to give Walt list of demographics ranges to add to profile. This info is useful when trying to sell ads, as well as for understanding who our sie visitors are.

2) Join/Renew/Register ... To do ... describe process better so we can implement it. (Josh to work with Walt-- meet with Walt at his house this week)

2. Phase 2 planning -- nothing done today.  Do not start until we've resolved major phase 1 issues.

3. Specific action items requiring discussion.

See http://new.nynjtc.net/meeting/actions

4. Subteam status reports

* Business model (Ann/Ed)

Suggestions from consultant:

1) work on AdWords to promote traffic on the site; campaigns for individual books, maps, volunteer

opportunities, events; 2) internal ads to promote store from within site; use right column for this.
Ed checked with Google on what ads we can do under terms of grant -- ok to advertise our books and maps.
Swap ads with other similar entities also ok per Google. Idea: Get sponsorships of particular pages --

e.g. Find a hike & its subsidiary pages. Provide demographic info in aggregate to improve pricing (e.g.

might get $10K a page).

* Content (Georgette)

* Technology (Walt)
