D7 Conversion Meeting Minutes

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

In attendance at this conference call were: Mark, Melissa, Walt & Bill.

Progress was made in our goal to produce a clean D6 site to convert to D7. Two questions were still remaining concerning the “pruning” of multiple revisions on hikes and finding someone to help with “Image Assist” issues. Georgette was asked for advice on these issues and we will contact her again.

Walt mentioned a “lock issue” that may be able to be run on D6 and converted to D7. Bill suggested that the “locks” may disappear when we install the new modual  and disable locks on D6.

Image assist seems to be hard to fix. When it is replaced with an actual image, it intercepts the new image at the upload process. A few thing that need to be done to configure Image Assist are: 1.) fix the existing hikes pages and parks pages, and 2.) root out the other ½ dozen pages to fix 3.) make sure we turn off the creation of any new Image Assist tags.

The issue of system overload was addressed because of the recent “error 503” that was received. Our A2 server is near capacity and Walt is going to look into a disc upgrade from 80 gig to 320 gig. This upgrade may shut down the system for a couple of hours late at night. Doug provided information to Walt about his Google analysis that our usage has greatly increased. We may need to upgrade our A2 server and Walt will look into options including Cloud providers who know Drupal 6 & 7 better than others.

Below is a link to what is being called “Bill’s List” for things that need to be done before the D7 conversion.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00am.
