Adirondack Mountain Club - North Jersey Ramapo Chapter

The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) is a nonprofit membership organization that protects wild lands and waters through a balanced approach of conservation and advocacy, environmental education, and responsible recreation.

ADK North Jersey- Ramapo is the local chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club. Our members are passionate about the wilderness and outdoor recreation. Volunteer-led hikes take us to Harriman State Park, Ramapo Preserve, Sterling Forest, Schunnemunk State Park, New Jersey Palisades, Waywayanda State Park, Storm King Mountain, Hudson Highlands, and the Catskills. We are active in the maintenance and protection of our wilderness and welcome new members.

We offer three hikes each week, all year round. Each hike is led by an experienced leader who knows the trails and trail safety.

When you become a chapter member you will receive the quarterly chapter newsletter to keep you informed about outings and special events.  One of these annual events is our Mohonk Mountain House day hike and dinner each fall. In addition, we hold an annual holiday party social at a local restaurant or meeting hall.

Non-members are invited to join us on two hikes before making a decision on becoming a member, but please contact the hike leader to register for the hike. Also, please first consider the rating of any particular hike. We look forward to meeting you on the trails on an ADK hike.
