...I have been hiking the Kinnelon trails for over 40 years and knew where so many large native wildflower populations grew. Sadly, now the barberry, stilt grass, garlic mustard, and the other invasives mentioned above have crowded out the beautiful Lady Slippers, purple violets (our state flower), cardinal flowers, milkweeds (host plant for the Monarch butterfly), and many others.

The Pyramid Mountain Visitors Center and the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference are just two local places where you can find information and programs to eliminate invasives. ...
