First State-run ATV Park Opens

New Jersey enacted a law in 2009 calling for the state Department of Environmental Protection to find sites for three off-road vehicle parks in an effort to deter illegal riding on public land. The new park is located in a wooded area near the intersection of County Routes 550 and 610 in Woodbine. Though only about 11 acres are currently open, there are plans to expand the park throughout the entire property.

State officials are still looking for additional locations in central and northern New Jersey to open the other two parks, but finding the space — and local support — has proved a difficult task....
