Body

The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference was happy to host The Joshua Foundation’s first ever “USA Experience,” which allowed young people to travel to the USA to engage in conservation and community service projects in Chicago, New York City, and Washington, DC.

The Joshua Foundation raises funds to provide holidays and experiences for children with terminal cancer, and their families. In 2001, the Joshua Foundation launched a fundraising project, the Oz Experience which allowed 16-18 year olds the opportunity to travel to Australia to undertake conservation work in return for raising sponsorship in the UK.

With support and leadership from the Friends of Van Cortlandt Park, the Trails Restoration Crew and Trail Conference volunteers, 40 team members spent two days improving the trails at Van Cortlandt Park. The teams cleared and repaired water bars on the trails and restored a stone culvert. The improvements will help minimize erosion and make the trails safer and more enjoyable for visitors.

We are very grateful to all the team members for their hard work in very hot and humid weather
