PIPC Asks LG to lower its building plans on Palisades

...Approximately 100 people filled a small auditorium at the Fort Lee Historic Park Visitor Center for the agency’s meeting Monday. As commission President Philip White read the resolution, several people held up signs reading, “The Palisades are NOT for sale,” “LG Tower A Monument to Corporate Arrogance,” and – in a nod to the company’s own slogan – “Life Was Good Before LG.”

After the vote, the audience erupted in applause. Ed Goodell, executive director of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, lead the crowd in a cheer of “Hip-hip-hooray!”

Goodell said that Monday’s vote, as well as a letter signed by six North Jersey mayors last week opposing the building height, disproves LG’s contention that, “A few elitist New Yorkers are against this because it ruins their view of the river.”...
