Valley Cottage hiker found dead near Rockland Lake park

A police search ended tragically Tuesday when the body of a 47-year-old Valley Cottage woman missing since Sunday was found at the bottom of a cliff near Rockland Lake State Park. 

 Colleen Murphy fell about 300 feet to her death, said Clarkstown police Detective Sgt. Timothy O'Neill, adding that the body of Murphy's dog, a 5-year-old Corgi named Jemma, was found about 100 feet above Murphy.
