Volunteer with the Trail Conference Conservation Corps in New York and New Jersey!  Whether you want to come out to volunteer for a single day, every weekend, or bring a large group, you will be contributing to the responsible use and care of open space.

Schedule:

Crews are out on the trails Friday through Monday 8:30am to 5:00pm late May through mid-October.  

Check the Events Page for specific opportunities that pique your interest.

 

Volunteer Activities:

Digging sidehill

Gathering stone

Using an overhead highline to transport stone

Creating crush stone (with mash and sledge hammers)

Helping create stone crib walls and stone stairs

Revegetation and transplanting

Hand pulling or lopping invasive plant species

 

We Provide:

Tools

Instruction

Personal Protective Equipment (required while on worksite)

 

Be Prepared!  Volunteering with us is lots of fun but can be strenuous! Please make sure to come prepared with:

Water (minimum of 2 liters)

Lunch and snacks

Long pants are mandatory

Sturdy closed toe shoes

Positive attitude

 

The following forms must be completed before arrival:

Volunteer Service Agreement - for all volunteers (fill out online once a year)

Guardian Consent - for volunteers under 18 (fill out, print, and bring to the worktrip)
