Help preserve tomorrow’s trail lands by taking part in our annual Trail-A-Thon!
For over 100 years, the Trail Conference has protected and preserved our trails, ensuring safe, enjoyable access to nature for all. But our landscapes face mounting pressures—from urban development and shifts in federal policy to extreme weather events and the spread of harmful invasive species.
That’s why we launched our Trail-A-Thon: The annual event is a fun way to support our trails and connect with the outdoor community while raising critical funds to protect the lands we love.
WHAT IS TRAIL-A-THON?

Trail-A-Thon is a month-long, hike-a-thon-style fundraising challenge open to all, regardless of your experience or ability. Whether you love to hike, run, bike, or simply stroll through your neighborhood, your participation makes a difference!
Start by setting a personal mileage goal, then invite your friends and family to support your journey by donating to your campaign. Log your miles anywhere—whether on forested paths, city streets, or even on the treadmill.
Every mile you track and dollar you raise directly supports the Trail Conference in our mission to preserve and protect public lands. With your support, we’ll ensure our cherished pathways remain thriving for generations to come.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR TRAIL-A-THON?
It’s quick and easy! Register for Trail-A-Thon at RunSignup.com. Once your account is created, you’ll be able to track miles, log donations, see how your fellow Trail-A-Thon’ers are doing, and receive special messages from us!
Trail-A-Thon runs throughout the month of October. The minimum fundraising requirement to participate is $100, which you’ll work to raise throughout the four-week challenge. Participants are required to pay the remaining balance if the $100 minimum is not met by the end of the campaign. Credit cards will not be charged until November 1.

Achieving your personal fundraising goal supports the Trail Conference and the vital on-the-ground work that we do in protecting public trails. Plus, when you reach the $250 mark, you’ll become eligible for special prizes!

Important Notes:
- All fundraising milestone rewards will be mailed out after Oct. 31. Multiple milestone rewards will arrive in one large mailer.
- An individual can only receive one prize for the milestone mile prizes
- Team totals are not eligible for milestone fundraising prizes, only individuals
- Setting a higher goal does not raise the $100 donation required of each participant. That means someone who sets a $1,000 fundraising goal will still only need to raise the $100 minimum. A participant’s card will only be charged if the minimum $100 has not been raised by October 31.
- The Trail Conference Team is a general fundraising team, it is used for miscellaneous fundraising purposes for the organization, and team members are not eligible for the overall milestone fundraising prize.
- Please use the 3:1 bike-to-foot ratio, meaning 3 miles of cycling is equal to 1 mile of hiking/walking/running. Bikers should adjust their mileage using the 3:1 ratio before uploading their activity.
