Conservation Corps Programs Make a Difference
The Conservation Corps Trail Crew plays a critical role in building, maintaining, and restoring miles of trails across the region. Our dedicated crew members work to ensure that trails remain safe, sustainable, and enjoyable for hikers of all levels. By tackling projects like trail reroutes, drainage improvements, and stonework, the Trail Crew protects the natural landscape while providing access to some of the most breathtaking views in the area.
The Trail & Summit Stewards are the front line of education and conservation on our most popular hiking trails. These dedicated individuals provide vital information to hikers, promoting responsible outdoor recreation and Leave No Trace principles. By sharing their knowledge, Stewards help preserve fragile summit ecosystems’ beauty and ecological health while ensuring a positive experience for all who explore them.
The Invasives Strike Force is an essential part of the battle against invasive species that threaten our native habitats. This dedicated team surveys trails and natural areas, identifies invasive plants, and implements removal strategies to protect the region’s biodiversity. Their efforts help preserve our ecosystems’ natural balance, allowing native species to thrive and ensuring the long-term health of our wild spaces.
